Are You Viewing Your Life By The Pages Or The Chapters?

Updated: Jan 25, 2022

For the past two weeks, when my son is getting ready to go to sleep, he will end the night by saying "chapter (insert number), a new day". For example, "chapter 8, a new day". It got me to thinking, do we view our lives by the chapter or the pages? We can really learn a lot from children because one thing for certain is they have extreme faith. I started to think about how much faith my son must have to be able to say OK I successfully completed the day so now a whole chapter is closed. That was really insightful and amazing to me because I think some of us view our lives by the pages. Day 1 would actually be page 1.

We know that God said we only need the faith the size of a mustard seed. What if we had the chapter faith though? When we know that when our day is completed, a whole chapter has been completed. When we know that no matter how long the situation we are facing lasts, we know that it is a chapter that God has already taken care. Jesus tells us that one day on earth is like a thousand years of heaven. So it kind of makes since that we can say every day, God has taken care of a chapter.

"But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day"(2 Peter 3:8).

So I would like to encourage you to today that if you have been looking at your life by the pages(The daily trials you face), rather than the chapter(knowing that God has already taken care of it), that you start to look at the chapter. We know that God is the author and finisher of our faith, let us thank him for the chapters that he has already finished that we just haven't seen yet.
