There was honestly a time where I found that my negative thoughts were overpowering my positive ones. It was almost like the more effort I put into not being negative, the more negative thoughts filled my mind. We all battle with negative thoughts whether it's doubt, worry, confusion, stress, or questions of why something happened in your life. We're human so not every thing is going to go right all the time. As a life coach and an anti-domestic violence advocate, I often hear from people who have this same struggle, so I thought I would write about.it. After all, our mental health is just as important as our physical health.
So what can be done to counteract negative thinking/thoughts?
The important thing is to know how to deal with things. It's important to know that your negative thoughts do not define you. Some people begin to accept their negative thoughts by internalizing them and once that happens, they start to believe it and that plays out in their actions. I am here to tell you today that you are not your negative thoughts, you are just you! When those negative thoughts cross your mind, begin to think about you, and what is true about you? Are the thoughts that cross your mind true? If not, then where are thoughts coming from(all thoughts stem from somewhere). If the thoughts are true about you and you don't like it what can you do to change it or is it something that really needs to be changed? We have to be able to face ourselves in order to grow and prosper.
